StrongVPN, 2 Routers - How to config

I was trying to figure out how to setup 2 wireless routers so one would route traffic through a VPN (using StrongVPN) and the other would use normal local internet. That way, I could connect to either router when required. After lots of trial and error, I stumbled across this post from the StrongVPN forums (http://strongvpn.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=1101)and managed to setup my Orcon Genius and Linksys WRT54G using the same config. The Linksys was configured for StrongVPN I've pasted the content here in case I or someone else finds this useful =============== Hi I've been trying to set up a two router configuration with a PPTP VPN connection and I've finally got something working which is a bit different than some methods posted in the forum. here goes: My primary router is connected directly to my ISP - this is a Dlink DIR-615 and acts as a DHCP server as normal, serving the 192.168.1.x subnet. This provides a network connection to any devices on my lan which don't need a vpn connection. My secondary router is a Buffalo WHR-HP-G54-DD. This is running DD-WRT v24-sp2 (08/07/10) vpn build 14896. This router is connected through its WAN port to one of the client ports on the Dlink. This router will continuously connect to the VPN and provide a network connection for any devices on the network which need it. The subnet is 192.168.2.x. This router is also providing DHCP. To set up PPTP: under SETUP / Basic Setup: set the following: Connection Type: PPTP Use DHCP: Yes Gateway (PPTP Server): Server IP User Name: PPTP Username Password: PPTP Password Connection Strategy: Keep Alive: Redial Period 180 seconds PPTP Encryption: Enable Disable Packet Reordering: Enable STP: Disable This worked for me - very simple and no scripts required. The only caveat is that the router can only be used for VPN in this mode. hope that helps. ===============
